I have a number of veneered plywood pane...

I have a number of veneered plywood panels to cut holes in and this just makes the job so easy. The plaster on my thumb reminds me that the teeth are crazy sharp. Cut a piece of wood to act as a guide for the saw. Run the blade along the guide gently, slowly and the result will be flawless.
