An example of the reified emperors new clothes phenomenon in jazz
I purchased this because I am jazz fan/trumpet player and like many people 'Take Five' is well known to me but most other Brubeck work is not. As Brubeck recently died and this set was a good price I thought I would add it to my collection for both listening pleasure and educational purposes.
It is well known that Brubeck was obsessed with offbeat signature timing and these CDs are dominated by that . As a result much of his (piano) playing is chord based and rhythmical and he tends to merge into the background with the drummer and base player. It is Paul Desmond the Alto Sax player who seems to be the real front man of this quartet but alone with a strong rhythm section often leaves him struggling in a monotonous environment which becomes a little tedious after several numbers.
This Cd set convinces me that Brubecks fame was predominantly a product of 'The emperors new clothes' phenomomenon that exists in the Jazz fraternity. i.e. they all sit around expounding the wonders of what has been proclaimed special because nobody dares to point the finger and say the emperor is naked. That would be to admit personal jazz failings.
I have only listened to 7/10 Cds as I find them too tedious to prioritize, but I will And I will probably listen to them again to see if I can learn something constructive from them, but I would not purchase them again. Brubeck is consigned to my group of jazz musicans who are technically correct but lack the 'Jazz Integrity' that makes the jazz greats special

Adaptable buckets/pots
The quality of these buckets is better than I anticipated.
These buckets will in fact hold a good 6 litres of water and they will fit inside the 7.5 litre version. This means I can adapt them to use the 2 versions together as a self watering pot system. Or I can just use them as pots/buckets

Simple but efficacious
This does the job it is made for and seem reasonably stable. If the tightening mechanism is over-tightened the back of the seat pops up (as others have complained) but the trick to loosen it till the back just drops down again then it holds just fine and can be removed/replaced without readjusting. It may not suit a very large person while the handles are installed.
