Disappointing display format.
Many clock radios conveniently display the time and date simultaneously which is exactly what I wanted. Pictures I'd seen of the RCR-22 showed it doing just that. Indeed I had downloaded the user manual and it indicated that it would show the time, date, and day-of-week simultaneously. Perfect, I thought. When I plugged mine in it showed the time ONLY. There is a button to push to toggle to date ONLY. If the radio is on, it shows frequency ONLY. I called Sangeon and they said that I had a “newer” model, the old ones showed time and date simultaneously. It is interesting that they made such a significant change to the display and did NOT change the model number. Could profits have been involved in the decision?
The display intensity is adjustable. If it is set for easy viewing in daylight, it is obtrusively bright at night. To “solve” this problem, there is a button to push to toggle between bright and dim. Isn't that just great. Every morning and every night you have to push a button to get a suitable viewing intensity. (Modern TVs, cell phones, etc. automatically adjust intensity depending on ambient lighting.)
If these nuances are OK with you, go for it. I returned mine for a refund.
