Incorrect Firmware

When I connected this hard drive to a cloning devise, it was not seen by the device. So I could not just clone my smaller hard drive onto this larger one. So I fitted this hard drive to my laptop and installed Win XP. An error shows saying that this hard drive does not have the correct firmware. I still trying to correct that issue (never seen that error message in the last 30 years that I have been playing with computers). David
