No need to buy anything more expensive!
3 of 6 found this helpful If you were thinking about buying one with gold plated connectors, a braided cable or any other kind, don't bother. All you need is one of these bad boys. HDMI is digital which means there's no quality loss or interference with a cheap cable like this, it either works or it doesn't (and most cases they do, mine did.)
Edit: Well now I feel very silly as it turns out this cable is actually a piece of junk. Been using it for a few days now and I'm getting black screens where there's no signal for a few seconds. This happens sporadically so I've had it happen twice in ten minutes but also had it not occur for hours. Your mileage may vary but mine's definitely a dud.

Amazon asked me to review this so here goes... it works. If you need no frills DDR4 for a decent price during the RAMpocalypse then get this.

Edit: Mic has broken after a week
First thing I noticed when I pulled these out of the box was the weight. I was expecting a cheap, light and tacky feeling headset but it feels surprisingly well put together and sturdy. The braided cable is a great touch and the brushed metal finish and LED's really make it stand out.
The sound quality is good, perhaps not great. They don't sound tinny in the slightest which is what I was expecting; plenty of bottom end. However they lack clarity. For gaming this isn't too noticeable, it's only when listening to music that it becomes an issue. Still, I'd give the sound quality a solid 7/10.
I've played Player Unknowns Battlegrounds with a friend using this headset and he said the mic sounded good, although quiet. I had to turn up microphone gain by around 20db in Windows for him to hear me clearly as there is no volume for the mic built in. Also it advertises that it works with Xbox One which is a flat out lie. They have separate jacks for the audio and mic whereas the Xbox One uses one jack, so an adapter would be needed. Some people have mentioned that their headset came with the adapter but mine didn't.
I haven't owned one of the more expensive Turtle Beach headsets or any other large brand to compare it to but at this price I don't think there would be any reason to buy a more expensive headset, unless the sound quality and quiet mic are an issue; the latter of which is easily fixable.
After a week of use the mic no longer responds to voice, only to knocks on the mic itself. At first I thought this was a problem with the discord app but after using the monitor feature built into windows it seems the mic has just given up. Shame really.
