GREAT CHRISTMAS STORY
Wonderful TIMELESS Christmas Story. We watch it every year. It just wouldn't be Christmas without watching this movie. Funny and poignant.

SUPERB VINTAGE POSTCARD BOOK
I initially checked out this vintage postcard book on Kane County from our library and was so impressed with it that I had my husband read it too and then we purchased a copy of it for our own. I grew up in Aurora in the 40s & 50s and my husband grew up in Elgin and So. Elgin in the 30’s & 40’s. Since being married, we have lived in No. Aurora and Batavia and have worked in, visited and/or shopped in most of the other towns in Kane County written about in this little book of vintage postcards, so this book was a ‘trip down memory lane’ for both of us. We loved reading and learning so much about the history of the towns and especially enjoyed seeing what the names of the towns were before they became what they are known as today. We moved out of Kane County to LaSalle County about 25 years ago, so after enjoying the book so much, we took it with us one day and drove to several of the towns written about in the book and compared them today (2010) against the pictures in the book, enjoying the ‘before and after’ so much and also seeing how many of the old buildings had been remodeled. We had such a good time that day that we decided to keep the book in the car for future trips to other towns mentioned in the book. It is a wonderfully interesting book. The authors did a superb job of researching it and I highly recommend it.
