So near to perfect.
1 of 1 found this helpful For anyone with a sound system where the nuances of such a finely crafted album are visible and beautiful on almost any of the myriad CD masters of Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here, this SACD will still impress. As well as the much talked about "missing piano" the overall mastering by Guthrie is as good as ever and this album is here presented in the best format imaginable, unless you have the original vinyl.
The one criticism I would have is that although it is unquestionably the best digital master [save possibly the hi-res in the Immersion boxset, but you have to buy the whole box for that, and this is easily on par] it wasn't as spectacular as the Dark Side of the Moon SACD that came out a few years back - compared to that something seems to be lacking, or maybe that's just personal taste about which album is better.
Regardless, if you have a system that can play SACD properly and you're a big Floyd fan you really can't go wrong with this album.
