Technically advanced features in a lightweight capable body.
2 of 2 found this helpful Just did an extensive photoshoot using the A99 for the first time. Very impressed with the EVF, the rotating, angled capable LCD, the improvement in ISO noise over the A850 and the size and weight. Some photos did ahow missed AF (used the CZ 16-35) but all in all a very favorable expeience. The image quality on my D600 gets the nod by a nose but the white balance on the Sony is spot,on (this is not the ca on the Nikon). Quite satisfied.

Best lens I have ever used.
1 of 1 found this helpful I have owned many full frame DSLRs, both Canon (5D, 5D MK II, 1DS MKII), and Nikon (D3, D600) and have had some very good glass. Until I bought the Sony A99 I had never used any Minolta glass nor knew anything much about it. My favorite lens of all time was the Canon 80-200mm f2.8 L, dubbed the "Magic Drainpipe". I loved it for its color and bokeh, and had never experienced anything even close to what it could do until I bought the Minolta 200mm High Speed F2.8. I can honestly say this is the best piece of glass on any system I have ever used. The out of focus rendering capable with this lens is hard to describe, as it renders its in focus subjects in a truly three dimensional light. You hear that a
lot but this lens really does accomplish it. I got a wonderful copy of this lens, for a great price. Will never part with it.
