The best classic flash!
The SB-28 is, in my opinion, the best of the older speedlights out there. It's very affordable, often times found in flawless condition and is a powerful little sucker! You cannot do TTL metering with this on modern cameras, but WHO CARES?! TTL is, to be frank, for amateurs who don't know any better. This flash unit is SUPER simple to use, I even prefer using these older flash units over the modern ones that are packed with a TON of useless features. This flash unit, when paired with a power pack, can be fired like a machine gun. If you're into taking X amount of pictures per second, you can with this speedlight. When paired with a wireless trigger unit, you can produce incredible results!
In the end: This speedlight is a GREAT link into professional photography. When used correctly (Basically, when it's NOT on the hotshoe) and if it's paired with a light meter, you've become a real photographer... Well, as long as you use it all correctly!
