Useful and compact guide
This is a newer guide.
The pictures are beautifully done, with labels for the points of differentiation between the species and identifying features.
Maps of locations species are to be expected are clear and easy to read.
There are notes on each species, including calls and behaviour, to make them easier to ID
It is a compact book, ideal for carrying in the field and its plastic cover makes it less likely to be damaged when out and about.
Although I've relied on a different field guide for years, I find this easier to use, particularly with the helpful, colour-coded menu at the front making it easier to find the correct type of bird with a very small amount of knowledge.
