Ingenious bit of kit
This really is a clever bit of kit and captures just about every last bit of PV generated power until your tank is up to temperature. Mine has been in 35 days and has averaged 3kWhr/day over that period. I reckon it should pay for itself over about 3 years and give us pretty much all the hot water we use, except over the winter 2-3 months when there is little PV generation anyway. On one dull rainy day in May, there was little generation so it only captures 0.17 kWhr that day – but it will still grab any that’s going spare. Fantastic, and already seeing the electricity bills falling a bit. Also, it's no more difficult to fit than a regular immersion heater time controller, although it is quite a lot bigger and needs space around it for cooling, so that made it a bit fiddly in my space. Initial noisy vibrations were easily solved by tightening up the cover screws properly. Doh!

Good value and easy to use
Don't expect to light up the town with these little lights, but they do pack a punch for the money and are good value. In all, we have 8 wash lamps and 6 spots to provide some of the lighting for a small amateur dramatic stage and they do the job nicely.
