Holds steady so I can peel
Have had 2 peelers with suction base. Spend way too much time re-clamping the suction base. This easily clamps down and stays. My only problem is that about half the Northern Spy apples I got were too large to peel properly. Had that problem also with the suction peelers

Slices thin the way we like them.
With apple slicers we had before, still had to cut each wedge in half to give to a child. These are exactly right. A bit awkward to slice partway and then onto the grey base, but that completes the slice.

Great one-handed use.
Love the Thermos vacuum. It is very easy to use one-handed while driving or any time when it is difficult to use both hands. Keeps my tap water with ice cold for an entire day out shopping or the entire night when I take it to my bedroom for when I need a cold drink.
