    Superior multiplayer/graphics/controls, True Next Gen.
Easily the most fully featured next generation on the market. None of the competing consoles come close in terms of software title availability, multiplayer experience (Xbox Live Gold) or vendor support. The Xbox 360 you are about to buy (hopefully) is updated on regular 6-month basis. New and sometimes pretty useful features are added to the console often via software updates. The Xbox 360 is easily the most robust multiplayer experience on ANY platform, in system link, split-screen or internet play. This alone merits the purchase of the console for users who are likely to stick around online (as I do.) Some flaws that mar the console are noise and heat issues, none of which are a serious impediment to the commited gamer. The DVD player is quite poor in its default implementation as well. If noise is an issue it is perhaps wise to wait for a revision of the Xbox 360 (no doubt in the works...) which should alleviate heat and thus noise issues with it. Once this is resolved there is really no reason to hold off purchase. The dearth of software titles is only likely to dramatically increase with time, notable future (at the time of this writing) releases the likes of Halo 3, Bio Shock and Mass Effect will level any doubts as to the viability of the Xbox 360. HD-DVD: The whole HD video transition is (for some) part of why people will buy the consoles, but I feel that in the end, the consoles should be evaluated as gaming systems first, media devices second (or even distant third). So, the whole debate is moot. If you must have HD, the HD-DVD accessory on the Xbox 360 is a very cheap way to try out HD (200$ or something on that order I believe). What makes it so useful is that it can plug into your laptop (assuming it is powerful enough) or desktop to play HD-DVDs anywhere, not just on your TV (for me, this is a huge plus because I can connect it to a computer with a 30in TFT display.)

Half the price, just as good as Samsung retail SSDs...
Getting it used can be a great deal on an excellent SSD.
