Unexpected newer model - wonderful surprise
I didn't realize this was actually a newer model than the one I currently have, basically the same features, only a bit smaller footprint. I needed a second for a 2012 Mac mini. Instead, this one went on my MacBook, and the larger one on the Mac mini. Works great, drives a 4K monitor, headphones, and scanner.

Second XW8600
1 of 1 found this helpful After having such a good exerience with my first XW8600 that I purchased as a primary development workstation, I bought this one as a virtual machine server/redundant hardware backup. I updated the RAM to 16Gb, added two more hard drives and installed Windows Hyper-V Server 2012. This XW8600 is now running two virtual machines for development testing and works great. For the size and horsepower you would think it would be rather loud, but instead I have to look at the front panel to make sure it is powered on. If I ever need to replace one or decide to add a third virtual machine server, I will definitely be looking at either an XW series or Z series workstation.
