Ramair Over Sized Air Filter Intake Kit for 2.0 TFSI K03 & K04 Cupra R S3 Golf

    Cupra MK2 TFSI
I have just installed this, and what a difference it makes! The sound is immense! Not only does it give you a great sound out of the engine, the exhaust gurgles with the occasional quiet pop (on a standard Cupra). As for performance, I haven’t noticed any improvement. But I will notice a reduced fuel bill... you get a far better sound not going too high up in the revs so it’s actually made me drive a bit more sensibly lol. It’s a real head turner, I’ve removed the sound proofing from the bonnet aswell but the sound on the outside of the car is ridiculous! Installation wise, it was so easy. I know nothing about cars, watched a couple of YouTube videos and read the instructions provided by Ramair and I didn’t have any problems. I would suggest having a spare pair of hands for some bits when removing the old system from the car. I’ve not installed the heat shield as I was running out of light, but it will be going on over the weekend. My 1 negative is on the MAF Sensor, the old screws can’t be used, so the provided Alan key screws must be used. The issue with this is, the Alan key provided doesn’t fit these screws (at least the one in my pack didn’t). This could have screwed up the whole installation, but luckily I got one off of a neighbour. Tools wise, I brought a 38piece £19.99 socket set and some water pump grips for £3 from screwfix. You’ll need a t20 or t25 head for most of the bolts so make sure these are in the set. And I would recommend a ratchet aswell. If you’re debating whether or not to get the oversized one just go for it. If you might get some tuning done in the future, it’s ready to go, but the standard one you will need to upgrade.
