Is this the same Pride & Prejudice that Jane Austin wrote about?
1 of 4 found this helpful Costuming was needed, as was a proper hair dresser. A&E got it correct, with Jennifer Ehle and Colin Firth, and the Greer Garson , and Laurence Oliver 1940 film was more engaging than this. When Judi Dench came at night to question Keira Knightley, the candlelight made her features very ugly,
Lady Catherine De Bourgh played by Barbara Leigh-Hunt in the A&E film was more forceful, demanding, and believable !
All in all this was not to be taken lightly or to be believed in any way... this was a sad film, that showed a sad family, and never connected any one part to the other. Tiny snip-its were give to us, and we could not glue the story line so it would hold any truth.

EXCELLENT movie for all ages
It was a good as the book, which I purchased reciently and re-read. I wished that it could have been longer. Wished that they would have added more scenes, BUT the photography was so BEAUTIFUL and the garden so secret that it was wonderful. EXCELLENT job. Wish I had Grandchildren to share it with !!!
