OLD SPICE HIGH ENDURANCE SOAP PURE SPORT 24 PACK *ORIGINAL FORMULA*
    08 October 2017
    Old Spice's Best Bar Soap
Old Spice has been updating its product line of men's products for a few years now. One area they went into was bar soap as well as liquid soap products. Presently, it appears to me that Old Spice is dropping the bar soap options in favor of the liquid versions. In a way that is a shame for some of us who still like using the bar version in the shower or bath. I mention all this because I think the Pure Sport version is only to found in its liquid version and I suspect the bar type of Pure Sport has been discontinued. I feel that Pure Sport is the BEST of the choices available from Old Spice. It has a long lasting, clean scent which I find great after say a shower at your athletic club. I urge those you are interested in trying out this product to act quickly if they desire the bar version. Try ebay or close out stores such as Ollies. I bought two 24 bar packs off ebay just recently. I really think PURE SPORT is a good product/scent although there are many soap choices available to me today.

Romeo and Juliet (Original Soundtrack) by Various Artists (CD, 1990)
    17 May 2024
A CD of great sensitivity based on an immortal tragedy of Shakespeare.
This soundtrack originally came out on vinyl records -- the movie itself was released in 1968. That year was a turbulent one both here in the U.S. (college campus protests, urban riots) and in western Europe. Amidst this chaos came this truly touching and lush looking film with its calming film score. I consider myself lucky to have found this CD from a fine e-bay seller and it brought back a flood of memories. The CD contains mostly dialogue but a fair amount of the music score is picked up at important points. There was a lovely romantic song "What is a Youth?" in the film and was carried over to the CD (sung by Glen Weston I believe). You have to be of a certain age to recall this, but this song also made it into the radio stations that catered to rock & roll young audiences. The sensitivity of the young performers along with Shakespeare's immortal dialogue is timeless. (Sir Laurence Oiivier was the narrator no less.) Highly recommended.

A Shotgunner's Notebook (by Gene Hill)
I wrote a review of Gene Hill's book A SHOTGUNNER'S NOTEBOOK for Amazon.com and readers can go there for a more detailed explanation of my views. For now, let me say that while Gene Hill is no longer with us, he has left behind a body of work that clearly demonstrates a love of the outdoors, hunting dogs, and game shooting. All of his books have a witty philosophical content to them which one reader said makes you laugh and cry at the same time. A rare gift for any writer to possess. Plus, Mr. Hill does not have to take a back seat to anyone regarding content knowledge -- he was a columnist/writer for many well known magazines over the years such as "Sports Afield", "Gun Dog", "Field & Stream" among others. A SHOTGUNNER'S NOTEBOOK is another example of Hill's clear and concise writing on the various aspects of wingshooting and shotguns. Perhaps a bit more factual than his other books, but not without the unique special touches that only Gene Hill can provide. I think this book should be on the bookshelf of every serious upland hunter and shotgun shooter. Hill covers a great many topics that will inform both novice and experienced gunner alike. I treasure this book and I think others will also. I recommend it very highly.
