Superb CD, DVD-A and SACD player.
1 of 1 found this helpful I have purchased 6 of these over the last 2 years for all of my 5 different audio setups and 1 for my guitar rack system. I listen to CD, DVD-A and SACD and nothing comes close to the performance of the S2700, for the price. Period! They have all performed with zero problems. And, if I had problems with one, I would not cry on the internet over it. Yamaha has great customer service.
I hear sounds on old CD's I have never heard before. SACD and DVD-A discs need to be played to understand what the S2700 is capable of. This is the reason I have so many of these, for my SACD and DVD-A's. A SACD or DVD-A is as close to the Master copy of a recording as you can get. This is HD sound just like Blu-Ray is HD video. IF you cannot hear the difference you either have a cheap sound system or your hearing is impaired. This is true audiophile equipment. The new model Yamaha that replaced the DVD-S2700 is around $2000. Take your pick.
