Reportedly really a modern French contract cutlass?

After seeing alot of replicas that are just so so I read this is the best quality cutlass replica out there. While I would agree, the sword has no edge at all, presumably leaving that work up to the end user for liability concerns. Or for display safety in the case you want to be a French sailor in a parade versus a hobbyist that wants to hack ropes to shreds with it. Well it will take substantial work to sharpen, as is it is a great starting point for that or just a wall hangar. I think they meant this is an official French government ordered item, not just your run of the mill Paki replica sword. So that adds value for me.
