if you're up for an average FPS, or want to get the background story for Ba
Here's the quick and short review:
I played this game on 2011. I was really just interested in how this game was different from the plethora of other FPS games that have saturated the market.
From my experience, the game is a run-of-the-mill military FPS. There are 3 things that made it stand out back in the day:
1) destructible environments
2) Light-hearted story
3) Gold-rush multiplayer mode
The first item is the biggest difference. You can pretty much blow anything up in the game, including houses, vehicles, trees, etc. That's great, but the graphics are mediocre because of it.
As far as the story goes, it was pretty bad. The jokes are forced, and the story (B-company goes AWOL and searches for a big gold stash) is boring. So bad in fact, that I couldn't go through and finish the game.
Multiplayer: I didn't try multiplayer, as I don't really care for it. But I heard it is/was pretty good.
So, if you're up for an average FPS, or want to get the background story for Bad Company 2, then you should consider this game. Otherwise, pass.

Vanquish - sleeper hit of 2010
I thoroughly recommend this game to anyone that is a fan of games like Gears of War. The action is very fast, the graphics are great, and the gameplay is sublime.
The only downside to the game is that it gets very repetitive in my opinion. The gameplay is so good though, that you may not care.
A complete playthrough of the game should last 6-7 hours on normal difficulty. There are challenge modes and leaderboards to keep you coming back for more.

Good Metroid game - but not the best
I've played about 2/3rds of the way through, and the game is good overall. The storyline may put off a lot of Metroid fans, as it puts a "japanime" flair to Samus's background story. Aside from that, the controls take some time getting used to - particularly the first person view mode.
The game does however retain the Metroid feel, looks and sounds very good, and it's pretty lengthy. I recommend it overall.
