build it yourself and save $100!!
4 of 4 found this helpful This is my first try at this type of building. It was easier than I thought! Of course, read instructions first, then think it through as to how you wish to build and re-enforce walls etc. Nothing to daunting. Take your time, I used a heavy duty type white glue, glue stick, black and brown markers for cut edges so white didn't show up, an exacto knife and a sheet of this artboard...that's about it. The rest is up to you and your patience level as this is built in stages over a couple days and not a night. It looks great when done and you van jazz it up with extras like brooms, shovels, wheelbarrows etc. A wood kit like this would be very expensive. I'm an old 64+ year old buzzard and if I can do it with bad eyes and shaky hands....well....anybody can!!!

2 of 2 found this helpful This is a wonderful book for "boys" of all ages, not to mention the "girls" too! Written in a style and format reminiscent of books you see from the turn of the 20th century, this gem presents hours of useful and entertiaining tidbits of information. It is in a short format, most articles are only a few pages or less in length. Originally written for British readers, it has been "Americanized', and updated with current, as well as vintage articles. It's easy reading and great if you have a limited schedule and don't want to read the whole book or lose your train of thought. Looks like it was printed in 1910 with a sturdy binding, and gold gilt lettering. This book is a reader and a keeper. One you can pass on to the children and grandchildren.
