Terrific book: I'd Rather be in the Studio!
This book is extremely helpful. I am a bead/textile artist and this book provides detailed guidance in setting up my business. After reading about 1/2 of the book, I liked it so much that I bought a second copy for my son, who is an illustrator.
The author is aware that artists want to be artists, rather than business people and makes convincing arguments why they need to be both, to be successful. She then provides detailed guidance in creating statements on one's art for press releases, etc., business cards, brochures, websites, etc. She directs her readers to websites (hers and other's) for further details. I have read many books on art careers and believe this to be the most helpful book I have read to date.
