This book is only for people who can get past the whole NOT FRANK thing.
2 of 2 found this helpful Seems good so far. More than half way through and it's keeping my attention.
If you're a Frank Herbert purist, you'll probably find plenty of reasons to hate on this book.
Took me years to get around to reading this.
What I did was I started with re-reading DUNE, then re-reading all the other books through CHAPTERHOUSE: DUNE.
I have to say, if you're just coming off reading HERETICS and CHAPTERHOUSE, the transition into HUNTERS OF DUNE is easy.
Yes, there is quiet a bit of arguably useless re-capping. Frank Herbert did his fair share of that too. The style isn't really THAT far off from Frank Herbert's style in the last two DUNE books either.
Sure I'm going to attract some hate for that one.
Look, this isn't Frank. We all know that. It's his son Brian and some guy we all know we're supposed to say we've heard of or read named Kevin. Who cares?
This is the only way we're gonna know how the saga ends without reading some flippin' summery.
I'm not reading a summery.
Nor am I flipping it.
I'll let you know how the other book turns out.
For now, I'm giving this 5 stars because I know that there are people out there who are giving it 0. And in the scheme of things, that's pretty rotten considering how much care and attention to detail and preserving his father's legacy Brain probably put into this.
You don't just casually go about pouring over your father's old notes.
Give the guy some credit.

Slow Write Speeds / Corrupts Files
6 of 6 found this helpful Do not use this for anything that is mission critical. This isn't worth the money.
Very slow write speeds. Not at all suitable for video work.
Could MAYBE be used for photography, except it has already corrupted a bunch of photos. anyway. So yeah this is useless.
HIGHLY questionable memory. I've done tests that lead me to believe it doesn't use the whole 256GBs and it stops after a certain point.

You will need: A strong stomach for violence, & an open mind to religion.
You wouldn't think so, but it's actually a moral tale by the time it is all said and through. Yeah, sure, there is a lot of glorified violence. But the ending puts that violence in the proper perspective. Also, if you pay attention, you'll notice all of the violent characters get seriously injured, shot, or killed.
