Solved the Problem
hard to find part in my town, $48 cheaper than dealer, solved the problem, ordered an extra one as a spare

Solved problem
Original Delta product, faucet responds quickly, will work without batteries, but batteries are recommended by the mfg., easy installation. Hopefully will eliminate frustration with battery performance. Price well below Delta’s list price.
