Great for Tall Players
1 of 1 found this helpful I'm a 6'7" player who has always had trouble with my driver. Unlike irons, it is very difficult to adjust the lie angle on woods, so I thought I'd give it a try. The way I would adjust the lie was to lengthen the club, but this always caused other problems. I wasn't looking for this "adjustability" Taylormade promotes, just looking for an easy way to adjust the lie and get the "tail" of the ball. Well I put this thing in the nu setting for my first round and I hate to say it, but I did not miss a fairway the whole round. The reason I say "hate" is that I fought against all this new tech coming out, but I have to say, I was wrong. Feels Great, Sounds Great, and can work the ball just like you want. For me , there was zero learning the club time. Just take it out and it felt as if I'd been playing it for years. It's not the longest stick out there,as I have a closet full, but it has to be the straightest!!! I'm a 10 hcp and 52 yrs old, and with age, you learn that busting the ball past everyone off the tee doesn't mean as much as you made the only birdie n the hole. I'm playing the original R9 as it looks and sets up more like a traditional club. The new 460 sticks may be longer, but I rather be 250 down the middle than 300 in the woods. If you're short or tall like me, this may be the one for you!
