Good well-rounded 'boom'
Still have some fine tuning to do with the bottom heads, but these G2's are giving a great well-rounded sound! Less attack than coated heads, with plenty of low-end boom on the floor tom.

Little boomier than EMAD2
I finally got around to ordering a new head after one layer of my EMAD2 cracked enough for me to call it quits. This Remo is a little boomer than the old head, due mostly to the built-in dampening ring being smaller than the EMAD's. That said, it took a while to get it tuned, mostly because I'm not great at tuning. But the added natural boom-y-ness of the head called for some tinkering with both pillow placement and resonant head tension to get it back to about the sound I like. It's almost there, and the more I get used to it the more I'm satisfied with it. This head definitely feels solid and very durable! While not the cannon sound that the EMAD gave me, the Remo feels like it has more tone to it when tuned very loosely,where as the EMAD was very wet and slappy sounding until about medium tension. Overall a good buy, especially if you're looking for a little more tone out of your bass drum.

This is a beast of a lens!
I had no idea exactly how big this lens was when I bought it. It's bigger than my [A7S] camera and lens combined and weighs about 3 pounds! Definitely not for the candid or run-and-gun film-maker. Rails and a support mount will be required.
It's difficult to focus it properly too.
