Faulty battery that wasn't disclosed.
Bought this because Amazon Prime day deals were terrible this year. I bought this fully aware that there were cosmetic damages as disclosed in the description. It was also listed as "fully functional" which is somewhat of a fib (I feel like lie is too extreme of a word) because the battery drains insanely quick. The appeal of the Kindle is the battery life that lasts weeks bc it has no backlight and no LCD/LED set up. I plugged this in, it charged from 0% to 100% in about 15min and then went from 100% to 62% in 20min of being unused. I tried restarting, I tried resetting, I checked to see if there were updates. Nothing.
Now, I'm going to have to buy and learn how to replace the internal battery, use the Kindle plugged in ONLY (which defeats the purpose of it being a mobile reader), or buy an external battery with a short cable and just keep it plugged into that the entire time I'm using it and turn it off when not using it.
Otherwise, the device is as described. Very basic ereader, minimal cosmetic damaged. Just an unfortunate battery issue that I have to figure out.
