Another Rapido Trains N scale masterpiece
Amazing detail, Microtrains body-mounted couplers, Easy-Peasy (tm) lighting and metal wheel; at this price, how could anyone resist?

Before the TEE...
...there was the Rheingold, a luxury train that ran nearly 1100km from Rotterdam, Holland, to Basel, Switzerland, following the Rhine river through Germany and the Netherlands. Arnold has done a remarkable job of representing this classic train, with each car well detailed (including table lamps in the appropriate colours for first and second class) and individually numbered. The doors open on the baggage car, and all cars are lit. Tracking, as with all Arnold N scale, is excellent, although the flanges are borderline for code 55 track. All in all, an excellent model of a historic train.

Another Kato masterpiece
These cars are beautiful, sleek, and while I haven’t actually checked the dimensions, they really do represent the originals well. Kato quality means they stay on the track, and the metal wheels give that great sound. Five stars, the next best thing to a trip to Japan!
