JL audio is the best
2 of 2 found this helpful I have been putting together car audio systems for almost 20 years and have used many different brands of amplifiers. I can tell you that there is absolutely no comparison with any of them to a JL audio slash amplifier. These things are insanely powerful while having incredible fidelity to match. JL always underrates their amplifiers in terms of RMS wattage. Even under the worst conditions (low battery voltage, 4 ohm impedance, amplifier is hot from extended use) these amps will continue to put out at least rated wattage. Lots of people claim that you are paying for the name and that there are better amps out there for less. Don't believe them. If you want serious power and an amp that will last a very long time go with a JL. I currently have a slash 1000/1 powering a alpine type R 10 in a ported custom enclosure and it is absolutely amazing. This setup in my truck rattles my teeth.

Very powerful clean output
9 of 10 found this helpful I don't normally write reviews for products but I felt it necessary in this case due to Hifonics being bashed in the car audio scene. I have been building and installing car audio equipment for almost 20 years and have used several name brands. I like JL audio but it is very pricey so I thought I would give Hifonics a try. I bought this amp to push 2 alpine type R 12's to replace the kicker cx 1200.1 because it was not enough power for the type R's. I have never used Hifonics before and am certainly not a "fan boy" but I must say I am very impressed with the power output and clarity of this amp not to mention its efficiency. Volt gauge hardly dips at all even at high volumes unlike the kicker which was highly inefficient. JL slash amps are nice but highly inefficient due to the RIPS power supply(I have a slash 1000/1 in another vehicle). Consider this review when looking at high power amplifiers. No need to spend tons of cash on JL or other high dollar amps. This Brutus amp is very impressive at a fraction of the cost.
