Beautifully crafted story that just gets better the further you read.
I read this book close to when it was first published. I was around 20 years of age, I lost my original copy but have just finished the copy I picked up second hand on E bay. This is a great book, slow to start but well worth sticking with.
Attention to detail is great, technical detail about the aircraft and tactics is impressive but not too deep. The personal relationships between pilots is believable as they were obviously under great strain, the class divide is evident and throwing the American perspective into the pot (the squash game) brings it home.
The action steadily increases and makes you realise just how difficult times must have been for everyone involved.
get through the first 100 pages and you'll be hooked. I'm so glad that I did not have to live through those times, makes you glad you were born late enough to miss it.
respect to anyone (all sides)who witnessed and lived or died to further the cause of freedom.

Sublime
Accepting the fact that 2049 is nowhere nearly as superb as the first movie (if you can). This soundtrack is amazing and is beautifully recorded. Great stuff.
