Brands Matter - There Is No Substitute
2 of 2 found this helpful Being budget minded but still demanding quality with my Canon DSLRs, I originally bought the highest-end flash Sigma offers. Sigma is known for its excellence so I thought I would get the same performance while saving a few hundred dollars over a Canon flash. But over the years I became increasingly disappointed. The final straw came after a recent shoot at a local Comic-Con. The sheer number of inconsistent and overexposed blown shots was all I could stand. This frustration compelled me to finally invest in the best flash Canon has to offer. There is no substitute. Shot after shot is now consistent. Recharge times between shots is fantastic. In the most demanding run-and-gun scenarios, full auto mode and the flash ETTL capabilities to meter each shot is a must; this flash guarantees the proper light ratio which captures the richest blend of colors regardless of the conditions. I get a high quality, properly lit shot every time now. There simply is no substitute.
