One of the best games ever made.
First of all, english is not my native language so please excuse if I make a spelling or grammar error. Here we go:
We all know that most of the movie licensed games are bad. Even if some of them are good games in terms of gameplay, they usually can't deliver the atmosphere of the movie. But not this game. This game is a GREAT side-scroller and it manages to deliver the atmosphere of the movie perfectly. This game is a perfect example of how to make a good movie based video game. It's a classic.
The most great thing about this game is the music selection. All the music from Lion King movie remade in 16-bit and it sounds really, really good. All the backgrounds, animations and music makes you feel like you're inside the movie. And isn't that a movie licensed game supposed to be?
Level design is brilliant and controls are perfect. Only problem, it's a little too hard even in the first stages. But once you get the hang of it, you can beat it pretty much everytime you play.
My personal problem is: There's no big difference between difficulty settings. Each difficulty level adds 1 extra hit point to SOME enemies and hard mode starts you with 0 extra life while normal starts with 2. So there's not much difference between easy and hard mode and I wish there was. But it doesn't that much of a problem since the game is really hard even on easy mode.
I think there's so many people who played this game on there childhood. But I'm still gonna give my message to those who doesn't played yet: Give yourself a favor and play this game! Especially if you're an oldschool side-scroller fan.
