    LOVE IT
what a talented writer/illustrator. i enjoyed this journey very much. as a young woman also stricken by cancer (albeit a different kind altogether, leukemia), the book spoke to me in the most important way-- through humor. although i identified with the protagonist in a direct way, i would bet ANYONE would enjoy this brilliant book.

    good handbook but too partisan
i liked and can imagine using some of the suggestions of how to reframe things in terms of progressive language. however, if you are rubbed the wrong way by things that don't give even a semblance of a fair treatment of the "other side", this is not the book for you. i'd recommend it to anyone with a nascent leaning toward progressive issues, but can't quite put their finger on how to talk about their beliefs with others. i'd have loved this book when i was 18 and just starting to really learn about politics in college. as an older person now, i would appreciate a more nuanced look at liberal/conservative values. definitely worth reading as it flows quickly and you can work through it in an afternoon.

    Not really an introduction
It's well-written and well-developed, but you have to have some basis in macroeconomics to understand it, even from the outset.
