What a powerful film.
1 of 1 found this helpful This movie was recommended by an Irish travel book. I believe the creators of this film tried to make it true to life and make it feel as if it were a documentary of the actual day, not a recreation, or an interpretation. The footage is a bit bouncy at times, and can be hard to watch. There aren't many characters, the film isn't a Hollywood movie, and I believe that it must accurately depict the real Bloody Sunday. It is a sad story, but it’s a very true story. I learned a lot from watching it and if you want to learn more about the Troubles in Ireland then you really should watch it.

Very, very odd film..
1 of 3 found this helpful This movie started out well. You can tell it was made in the 1990's, but that’s not the problem... In the beginning it feels like its going to be a good movie about the IRA and their prisoners, but then it takes a HUGE turn and changes into a very, very, very odd film. The main character is perusing a "woman" who is clearly not a woman, but he doesn't seem to know. It is so strange. If you're looking for a film about the IRA this isn't a good one. But- if you are looking for a film that is about transvestites, and mentally unstable he/she’s with a bit of IRA mixed in then this is the movie for you.

Very Law-ish
Its good for an employment law class because its full of example cases. I never actually received this particular book even though I paid for it - it never came to me, so I had to buy a second one at full price! (So always buy insurance - or make sure the person youre buying it from isnt an evil person who would take your money even if you never got the book). The book is really thick, and some judge written decisions are a bit tricky to read - nothing is written in layman's terms.
But it is broken down to subject matter (workers compensation, sexual harassment, pensions, OSHA, etc.) and there are loads of cases in each section.
It really depends on the professor if you will love or hate the book!
