Good camera manual could be more detailed

Trail camera HC801a The camera arrived on time and in good condition. However the setting up has been time consuming. The manual is very basic. The first item was the batteries. The external jack plug connection says 6VDC (6V-12V) is a bit unclear whether a battery pack of 2 lithium ion cells can be connected of 7.4VDC. I end up using 8 rechargeable NIMH AA batteries. The second item is the OFF TEST ON switch. I found by accident to set the auto working mode you must first put the camera in test mode and wait for the camera to start operating before switching to the ON position. This is the only way to get the LED indicator to flash. The manual says the motion indicates will flash which does not indicate the camera is in auto working mode. Thirdly in the setup menu there is timer ON OFF I have not worked where the timer setting or the timer period. Otherwise the picture quality is good.
