Great sound with multiple and somewhat complicated features that require study
1 of 1 found this helpful I have two of these Yamaha receivers -- one at home; one at office. This product does its job and the sound is great. I like the multiple HDMI features. To fully utilize features, I had to study the operating manual quite a bit and experiment with different sound options.
I use both Yamaha receivers with Vizio Model M50-C1 TVs, which are new in the year 2015 50" UHD TVs. Not the fault of the receiver, the Vizio TV has no output to allow the TVs built-in speakers to be used thru the receiver. Since I cannot simultaneously remote-control the TV speakers with the receiver-controlled speakers, my options are either-or: either only TV speakers controlled with the TV remote, or all speakers with receiver remote, without TV speakers.
Since UHD video content availability is so limited, I don't even comment on it here.
Generally, I recommend this Yamaha receiver, with a reminder that you'll need to spend some time learning how it works.
