Compatibility issues with some older off-brand mechs
I fitted the clipsal 6 gang plates to my IT cabinet. Its just a hole in a wall with a door and not a rack so I couldn't use a rack for incoming cat6 cables. After the electricians fitted digitek mechs I fitted some Clipsal 156/1 brackets and 6 gang plates. The older digitek mechs (circa 2013) didn't really fit. The clipsal plates have two rounded corners and the mechs had four square corners. I had to file the mechs down and press them in with a jig.
The newer (2022) mechs have a narrow shaft and a plate at the front (see picture). This clicks in no problems but they really hard to remove afterwards, so get them in the right way around the first time. :)
