Excellent value second hand for navigation. Up to date with bluetooth. Hardware great, software could be better.
These models have not been out that long. As such second hand examples are likely to have had less use. They still go at half the price of new though. Battery life is good regardless, esp. with battery saving mode on. The hardware is very good, much better than previous Garmin touch screens - it works in the rain or with gloves on.. The screen is bright and large, which helps navigation a lot. Forget the old touring model which goes for a little less than this - this is superior. You get auto upload to your phone and strava (once account is linked). You get incident alarms sent out to loved ones. The incident detection has always worked for me (picked up the two times I fell and never gave a false alarm). Where it had downsides is in the software. It seems to be too much like old Garmin models. And the connect phone app could be a lot better. The routes it finds have been buggy. I ride in a popular area yet the reccomendations are terrible. No matter what settings I have I find google gives better nagivation. Also a website created by one man gives better navigation cycle dot travel - check it out. The user interface could be better. Would be great if they let third parties develop more software for it. A whole new OS !! And the phone app could do so much more than it does. This is where Wahoo have the edge. But their hardware is lacking - so I prefer the Garmin. It's easy enough to download a route from another app on my phone to this Garmin. That is what I do. Battery life is easily enough to nav. with this Garmin for 10 hours battery saving move, which switches the screen off until come to turn. And this works very well. Compared to a phone you get a robust unit built to be used outdoors, with a reflective screen. When on bike tours it uses considerably less energy than a phone, even if switched on all the time. My dynamo has no problem keeping the Garmin charged with ample over to also charge my phone for use when in camp. When I just used a phone for nav. it was a lot more difficult in all kinds of ways!

Good for capturing the sound from a component cable.
Used on my old Xbox component cable out to send sound to a Bluetooth device rather than to the TV.
