Immediate alarm on motion (no delay), very loud, good battery life
2 of 2 found this helpful I bought this for peace of mind and restful sleep in an environment that's not secure, like a hotel room or during an extended power outage during civil unrest. Unlike some others I researched, the alarm sounds immediately on motion, and is quite loud (like, ear-damaging loud, so be sure it's switched off before putting the batteries in!). Battery drain seems minimal so they should last a long time with it on.
After motion stops, the alarm sounds for only a few seconds, not for a minute or two. This might be a good thing in case it triggers from a non-threat, so it won't keep wailing for a long time. It will still trigger again if motion continues, so a person moving through the room will cause the alarm to stay on the whole time.
The case is cheap plastic, the battery compartment is amateurish, and needing *four* AAA batteries is annoying. But given its loud alarm and immediate triggering, it's probably better than many other similar units.
