2 of 2 found this helpful I bought this for my apartment. Great Access Point, good range. Setup is easy for someone with IT and network knowledge, would not recommend for someone with no experience in this area. Software is great and does NOT require a machine that is constantly on for the access point to run. I run it on a laptop which is usually asleep unless I am on it, and the software doesn't run unless I turn it on. Have had no problems using it in this way, and the only downside is that the analytics do not accrue unless the software is running which is fine for my setup.
The range is good - covers my entire single floor apartment, albeit with lower bit rates towards either end. This is understandable considering it is mostly masonry and plaster old walls. It is mounted centrally in the apartment on the ceiling. I am thinking about getting a second and putting it in the living room just because of the distance and walls between.
