Dell compatible ram
1 of 1 found this helpful Bought this for a older dell inspiron 518. When the computer first came out, it came with 4gb and i had paid almost an extra 200 bucks to upgrade to 6gb. The computer doesn't just take any ram as dell is known for having compatibility issues (high density vs. low density ram). I took the 2gb sticks that came with the computer and used the model number to find these. Running win7pro x64 i see 8gb of ram and the computer is very responsive to it. I am able to open more tabs and programs without the computer lagging or feeling choppy. Very good upgrade for an older computer at a very discounted price
