LG X Power 16GB LTE Smartphone for Boost Mobile – New
    01 January 2017
    An unexpected surprise from LG...
This phone is as fast as my LG G3, is very responsive and fluid, and easy to use. LG has made some minor tweaks to the Marshmallow OS, and some are great, some not so great. The great - you are able to use the apps launcher available on previous versions with the simple installation of an app from LG. I like being able to sift through my alphabetical list of apps. I find it the most convenient way to locate and launch an app, which is important when you have more than 50 apps installed. It also includes the new verbal Google "OK Google" search feature. This gives you a Siri-like assistant which helps free up your hands for other tasks. Now for the bad - LG left off two very important features when they tweaked the firmware and the OS for this phone. They have disabled the ability of formatting the SD card to be used for internal storage, and they are still preventing users from moving apps to the SD card. This was the #1 reason I switched to a Marshmallow phone, and was greatly disappointed to learn that LG made this less than customer-centric choice. My suggestion - beat down the doors of LG and demand a firmware update to fix this issue. 16GB of storage was a lot 5 years ago, but I use 22GB of the 32GB on my G3, so I'm now going to have to pare down my list of apps to transition to my new phone. Come on LG - give us some love!

Spend a few extra bucks and get a Roku.
Compared to our Roku the unit is lackluster. It takes longer to boot, and once up and running is a bit glitchy in navigating the menus. It does have excellent quality video and audio, both in composite and HDMI modes. My biggest issue with the unit is that you cannot add popular streaming services, such as Amazon and Hulu. What it comes with out of the box is all you get, and D-link has no intention of changing that, per their customer service group. This makes the unit nearly useless to us, as we subscribe to several different services and will only be able to take advantage of Netflix with this unit. Spend a few extra bucks and get a Roku.
