Rivers, Tides, Snow, Ice, leaves, twigs, water, earth, driftwood. Brilliant
Excellent dvd. An art work in its own right. Beautifully filmed and gives an insight into how Andy Goldsworthy constructs his natural sculptures, how long it takes and his infinite patience when it goes wrong.
This dvd will make you look at the natural world in a different way. If you find yourself compelled to layer leaves, stack stones or tessellate twigs whilst out for a country walk then you can blame this dvd! The photo books of Andy Goldsworthy's works are great but give a static view of the works. This dvd gives the back story and you can see the works in the environment with the light, atmospheric and weather conditions changing around it.
Well worth the money, around £7 including postage, for a great dvd. Highly recommended.

Little Voice (DVD 2001)
Great film about very shy girl who is completely downtrodden by her dreadful mother and is missing her dead father. Jane Horrocks is 'absolutely fabulous' as LV and she sings all her own songs, no dubbing in, which is remarkable.
You will have your fingers in your ears at the grating voice of the mother and will marvel at the prowess of LV as she sings her heart out.
Touching love story too.

Belleville Rendez-Vous (DVD 2004)
Very weird, quirky and unmistakably French animation. Beautifully drawn, evocative landscapes. Grotesque caricatured characters. Surreal, funny, nothing quite like it really. The dog is wonderful. The Granny and her pals are a credit to the sisterhood of little old ladies - do not mess with them!
I'm sure that it is one of those films where you see things on second and subsequent viewings which you missed the first time round.
Recommended.
