Life changing
There are many good ideas for motivated couples to use to improve their relationship. Exercises and concepts are clearly explained. There is room in the book to record notes for each of the 100 days, which we find helpful considering the length of the project (to become more intimate in 100 days). The book is from a strong Christian point of view, at times past the point of context. This book is affecting our marriage in a significant way.

Not for right-wing conservatives
2 of 2 found this helpful When a friend lent me this CD, I had never heard a Holly Near recording. I returned the borrowed CD only after I had secured a copy for myself, considering her to be the best musical "find" of my year, and this compilation to be her best.
As a musician I appreciate Holly's abilities. As a human being I admire her willingness to sing about many important issues in a way that is informative, entertaining and inspiring.
Holly's voice is clear and strong, with a vocal range to be admired. Beyond her musical capabilities, this 2-disc compilation is an affirming and joyful collection of songs about many aspects of a social, ethical and spiritual reality, from a predominately Unitarian point of view.
"Dissent is dangerous and will be punished" is the message from the Bush Administration which Holly clearly challenges. She (and friends) sing about injustices against peoples throughout the world and history. However, what keeps me listening are the powerful songs that celebrate the wide range of our triumphs in some of these arenas, or at least our will and ability to continue the good fight.
Disc 1 features many of Holly's energetic and thoughtful early ('70's, early '80's) recordings. Highlights are "I Ain't Afraid" and "Fired Up", both expressing the need for social intercourse and the validity of liberal views.
There are some beautiful collaborations with Latin American musicians especially on disc 2(which consists of many live performances). While disc 2 is predominately themed toward social injustice past and present, one is still left with the idea that there is hope for change through strength of character and positive action.
Those who dare to think and behave in ways not sanctioned by the so-called moral majority will find company, solace in these songs. The music is memorable and important.

"Pagan" music
I bought it because I am interested in learning new earth-centered chants, and was not disappointed. Vocals are crisp, instrumentation noteworthy. Anyone who is looking for earth-centered music may be interested in hearing this "keeper".
