Not exactly plug and play
It doesn't easily pick up a signal when inside a car, sometimes it takes force-closing/re-starting the app is required for it to work well, and the pass-through charging port is VERY tight -very difficult to get the charger in. The snap dongle that allowed me to keep it on a keychain broke within a week.
That said. We bought this so my kid could play Pokrmon Go on her 6th gen ipod, and it gets the job done. Usually the GPS location is reliable enough to play the game, though we've identified a few places where it insists we are about 100 feet away from our actual location.
