Great movie!
1 of 1 found this helpful I had watched this when it first came out on TV as a miniseries. When I decided I wanted to watch this again, I was disappointed to learn that the DVD is no longer in print and had to search around where to purchase one. I was lucky to find a copy on eBay at a reasonable price and was able to watch this again. The movie was as interesting and enjoyable as when I first watched it.

Great book!
1 of 1 found this helpful I really found this book to be very interesting and a useful tool for anyone who is serious about trying to better their health afflictions through better eating & exercising modifications. I bought the book primarily to help me get control back over my high blood pressure because even though I do take medication to help lower it, I have not been successful with medication alone in bringing it back down completely to normal readings.
I really found the concept of Dr. Ornish's spectrum in regards to a person's eating habits an excellent starting point for someone who is truly interested in modifying their eating habits which includes healthy and nutritious food choices. I have been following this plan for 4 weeks and not only have I lowered my blood pressure back to normal ranges, it has been recording a bit lower then the average normal range that I may be able to stop taking my prescription hopefully in the near future. I have also dropped 7 lbs without starving myself. Though the reciepes in the back of the book are primarily vegetarian, I have found them to be delicious, with generous portions and I never seem to get hungry in-between meals. Since I've started to exercise regularly, I also add an extra protein portion at dinnertime such as a piece of chicken breast or grilled salmon.
This book also addresses other health issues that some people may find helpful like high cholesteol, type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, prostate & breast cancer.
Overall, I very pleased with this book and the Spectrum program. I'm sure not everyone would find these types of eating & exercising modifications to their liking, but I do believe someone who is genuinely motivated to change their health habits for the better will truly find this book a wonderful tool.
