Derek Trucks Band Songlines
1 of 1 found this helpful What can I say that hasn't already been said about Derek Trucks? The guy is an ace guitarist and has a wonderful understanding of all things music. His career started out in the early 90's down in South Florida and I was lucky enough to catch many of his very first shows. There he was, a tiny little boy putting veterans to shame with his scorching relentless slide guitar work. It was not unusual to see people staring at him with their mouths open in disbelief - and I was one of them!! haha ! In any event...he is amazing, his band is amazing, the cd is amazing...so buy it!!!

Romances is terrific!
A marvelous array of vocal gymnastics by one of music's true innovators. Mike Patton continues to amaze with this spectacular clinic on just how amazing of an instrument the human voice can be. Set amongst the eerily beautiful audio backdrop that is John Kaada, Patton delivers yet again aand adds to his already stunning body of work. The selections on this disc are perfectly structured to not only focus on Patton's unmatched vocal expertise, but also John Kaada'a instrumental prowess as well. This disc is without doubt a superlative effort and well worth multiple listens. These songs will stay with you long after you complete the disc; they may even haunt you for a while because of their beautifully ominous structure. there are a few different moods that Kaada and Patton put forth that are perfect in every way. I highly reccomend this beautiful piece of art.

Johnny & Willie = Perfection!
Well I must admit that I am NOT a fan of country music AT ALL, not in the least. I've never liked it and I just don't get the whole genre. Having said that, I am a huge FAN of Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson. They are, by far, true pioneers of music and I appreciate their amazing talents. This CD is as good as you can get...2 legends, 2 guitars and an audience. Words like amazing, spectacular and perfection do not even begin to describe how terrific this performance is...it is truly legendary and I HIGHLY RECCOMMEND it.
