Excellent adventure for learning Paragon Tier.
WEll organized and presented materials. The two separate books - one for synopsis/summary and one for encounters - make it easy to reference material without needing to flip back and forth. The included map is nice, but limited. Only one part of the major dungeon is mapped (final fight) whereas the actual dungeon is rather large. For the money, the I would have loved to have all the major areas of the dungeon mapped out.
The adventure itself is very adaptable, so you can throw in whatever hooks you'd like, but they are by no means necessary. You can throw your players into the adventure and just run in straight with no twists or frills and not be worse for it.
This is my groups first Paragon tier adventure and we are all still learning the ropes of our characters as well as the game mechanics at this level. Non-the-less the first 3 sessions went very smoothly. The fights are well balanced and for the most part, on the easy side (although my players are all power-players and max the heck out of their characters), but you can easily spice up each encounter with Adventure specific content. For instance, the lead in involves the players interrupting a gang of Trolls as they pick apart a couriers horse on the road to the Trading town of Moonstair. An Oni Mage survivses the fight by polymorphing and making the players think he is a surviving courier. The players, unable to overcome the bluff check, believe him and now the next encounter - which would have been almost too easy - has gotten a lot more challanging, as the Oni reveals his true colors right after leading the party into a ambush.
Such connections are throughout this campeign and are very easy and natural to set up. For anyone playing their first character through 4th Ed, this is a great place to start.
