JVC XV-Y360 All Multi Region Free DVD Player 5.1 Ch. HDMI NTSC DVDs NEW

Great multi-region DVD player
The DVD player itself is great, plays disks from all regions and format I tried. I only wish the remote control was more convenient to use -- tiny tiny buttons and inscriptions, until you get used to it is a bit of a struggle.

For reading, watching movies and browsing, this is the best value for money
The best tablet from B&N (this is my second one). All reasonable features you expect -- good display size, long battery life, plenty of Android apps. Add to this the frugal price and this is a deal that seemingly can not get better. But it can, if you buy it refurbished like me -- you will get (an almost) new tablet for the less than 1/3 of iPad or the likes. However it is not perfect. It is not pure Android, instead B&N has tweaked it quite a bit. It is well done but one negative side is that for updates this table depends entirely on B&N. My old tablet runs Gingerbread and will never receive official update. I did that with N2A card but that is different story. Another concern is the RAM memory. It may have been sufficient when the tablet has been released, but recently (in 2013) B&N decided to allow Google Play on it. Which is great because it makes huge collection of apps available on this Nook. But the price for that is that now there are a bunch of extra background processes, to support Google Play and other Google services, running on the tablet all the time, and they take up memory. So that leaves less memory to run the primary apps like browser, email reader, book reader, etc. The effect is that this latest generation table is rather ... let's just say slow when apps are started. Much slower than my older Nook tablet. On the good side, after the startup the app performance is fine. Overall -- great tablet. For reading, watching movies and casual Internet browsing, this is the best value for your money.
