***GREAT OUTLANDISH FUNNY ECCENTRIC MOVIE**MUST SEE AA+
1 of 1 found this helpful ****Love this movie!!!**** EXCELLENT AND MUCH BETTER THAN Wilder's version, yet in different ways.
So funny, a great cast, and well thought out actor-to-character choices--amidst the somewhat exaggerated yet realistic roles inter playing and bantering between the many variations between scenes!
JOHNNY DEPP, who has been, and IS so versatile...ONE OF THE BEST ACTORS, EVER! And again plays a very eccentric spin on the role (Burton...) and may seem somewhat aloof or obtuse in his approach, but ONE must watch in its entirety to fully understand. Depp is GREAT and quite a FUNNY FASCINATION --especially when RELATING TO CHILDREN and their parents, who have their own UNIQUE and individualistic ideas of CHILD rearing (or non-rearing or realistic positive rearing....some of which may need some of HIS 'rear-ending' ha ah ha... No offense meant and this IS MY ONLY Opinion!)
*****MUST SEE and should be a safe ONCE IN A LIFETIME CHOICE whether for a FAMILY, SINGLE or married couple...LOVE FOR ALL!!*****

WOW!! Most Thought-provoking +unique movie I've seen in years! **MUST SEE**
AWESOME and Amazing! It's the Most Memorable, Thought-provoking and unique movie I've seen in years!!! ** Truly A MUST SEE**
Pilgrims Progress (A Journey to Heaven) is recent rendition of a beautifully written allegory story about the constant struggles, challenges, temptations and triumphs each person faces throughout life.
Pilgrims Progress is a timeless classic written by John Bunyan in the 1600's. Bunyan was put in prison for 3 years by the Catholic church, because he was sharing the Gospel (Good News) of Jesus to others IN THEIR OWN LANGUAGE. He wrote this hugely successful and best selling book (still today) in an allegory style while suffering in prison.
Pilgrim's Progress Journey to Heaven is a excellent DVD!
Told in language and setting style that can be easily understood for viewers in the 21st century. Great acting, beautiful and vivid scenery with some unusual and striking visual effects really make Pilgrims Progress come to life on the screen!
The producers/directors stayed faithful to the original story line choosing some of the most memorable highlights from the book. Within the time frame allowed for a movie production, I believe this end product was wonderfully done and with much respect given to the author.
In my personal opinion, it should be seen and/or book read and contemplated by all ! (There are many updated translations of the book with easier versions of English than the original)
It's the Most Memorable Thought-provoking and unique movie I've seen in years! **MUST SEE** (some scary parts, discrection may be needed for the young depending on an individuals maturity level, of course)
